GREGG ARTHUR
Gregg Arthur is an Australian singer, songwriter and actor known for his intimate vocal style. Originally from Sydney Australia, Gregg travels all over the world performing the music he loves. His training and education are firmly based in the tradition of jazz vocals and the great American Songbook, using his considerable abilities to interpret what he calls the “new standards”, pop and smooth jazz classics.
Last Call is Gregg Arthur’s new EP released digitally world wide on Fanfare Records through Sony Music. Last Call features 5 tracks recorded in the iconic Studio A at Capitol Records in Los Angeles, California. The same studio where legends of the music industry including The Beach Boys, Carole King, Frank Sinatra and Nat “King” Cole recorded so many iconic albums over the last 50 years.
Arranged and conducted by pianist Tom Ranier (Tony Bennett, Barbra Streisand, Plácido Domingo, Natalie Cole) Gregg’ new EP brings his unique intimate approach to classic popular songs and smooth jazz standards: Killing Me Softly, The Lady In Red, I’m In The Mood For Love and Somewhere from West Side Story, as well as the new song Last Call, words and music by Gregg Arthur. Last Call is a throw back to the saloon bar songs of the 50’s and 60’s by writers like Johnny Mercer.
